Innovation in the Built Environment

Year two of a relationship with Tocoi Creek High School’s Academy of Innovation in the Built Environment has kicked off with great excitement for Innovative Construction Group.

ICG is ramping up for greater involvement with the Academy this year. ICG is donating materials for a garage build that the Academy students will have the opportunity to construct throughout the school year and allow them to receive hands-on training and educational experience.

ICG’s giving of both time and money will be focused on three pillars: giving back to our active military members and veterans, meeting housing needs, and educating the next generation of homebuilders. ICG’s partnership with the Innovation in the Built Environment Academy is a perfect fit for two of these three pillars of outreach.

Stephanie Tavill, the Career Specialist at Tocoi Creek oversees the Academy and is working with ICG employee, Laura Smith, who sits on the Advisory Board for the Academy representing ICG. They are working to coordinate student exposure to company operations through tours and educational presentations. Emphasis on safety and career growth are at the core of many of these engagements. ICG is absolutely thrilled at the opportunity to pour into young adults who express an interest in this industry. While much potential remains for engagement in this connection alone, ICG continues to seek out additional opportunities across all the current markets where work is being conducted.
