As a Florida-based company, ICG takes Heat Hazard seriously. We have made a point to help prevent heat-related illnesses and injuries. We supply electrolyte powder mixes during the hot summer months, ice machines in the warehouse and plant environments, and cooling towels in previous years.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced this month that there will be a national emphasis program to protect employees from heart illness and injuries. OSHA will now conduct heat-related workplace inspections before workers suffer completely preventable injuries, illnesses, or, even worse, fatalities.

In the related article, OSHA states the goal to have these new measures in place.

“Our goal is to make it safe for workers in hot indoor and outdoor environments so that they can return home safe and healthy at the end of each day,”

“Working together, we can ensure workers know their rights and employers meet their obligations in order to protect workers from the growing dangers of extreme heat.”

Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health Doug Parker
