OSHA’s Injury Tracking Rule
OSHA’s Injury Tracking Rule (published as the Final Rule), established in 2016, aims to enable OSHA to use its enforcement and compliance assistance resources more efficiently and to allow for analysis of data for identification, targeting, and removal of safety and health hazards.
This standing, five-year-and-counting rule now gives greater visibility of industry data to employers, like ICG, in order to benchmark their own safety performance. Using data collected under the final rule, employers are now able to compare injury rates at their establishments to those at comparable establishments and set workplace safety goals benchmarked to others in their industry.
